Vamos a Pescar - Let's Go Fishing

Reel in the kids and bring them out to the 10th Annual Vamos a Pescar – Let’s Go Fishing event on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Buddy Holly Recreation Area west of North University on Cesar Chavez Drive. This free fishing event encourages families to enjoy the great outdoors by fishing as a family before their children return to school. In addition to fishing, families will enjoy a free lunch, a variety of games, and fishing tips from the Fishing's Future Master Anglers. In addition to fishing poles, be sure to bring water or drinks to stay hydrated, mosquito spray, chairs, snacks and sunscreen.  

The event is sponsored by Los Hermanos Familia and co-sponsored by Lubbock Parks and Recreation. Los Hermanos Familia will be stocking the lake with fish ranging in various weights and sizes in the days prior to this event. Participants should register in advance at www.letsgofishinglubbock.com. Registered participants, including adults, are not required to have a current fishing license. Children up to 17 years-old must be accompanied by an adult.
