Veteran's Day Commemoration at the Silent Wings Museum

On Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024, please join the Silent Wings Museum in honoring veterans of the United States Military with a solemn ceremony at 11:00am. The Estacado High School Color Guard will open the commemoration ceremony led by Lubbock’s veterans organizations.
The Honorable Mayor Mark W. McBrayer will honor our nation’s veterans with the City of Lubbock Veterans Day Proclamation with the Honorable Mayor Mark McBrayer, followed by Dr. Ron Milam as he discusses the significance of this date in world history and our national identity. A special performance by the All Saints Episcopal School Children’s Choir will celebrate the accomplishments of those who serve.
After the ceremony, enjoy free admission from to 5:00 p.m.
Educational activities all afternoon include the opportunity to make a poppy in remembrance of our nation’s military veterans, and interactive activities illustrating the geography of glider operations of World War II.
