The City of Lubbock is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, the Lubbock City Council approved the appointment of Assistant Police Chief Jerry Brewer as the Interim Police Chief of the Lubbock Police Department.
His appointment comes after Police Chief Greg Stevens retired from the department May 31. Brewer’s new role was effective on June 1.
Chief Brewer has been with the Lubbock Police Department since 1988. He has served as Sergeant, Lieutenant and Police Captain. Since 2012, he has served as Assistant Police Chief in various capacities.
He also served as Interim Police Chief in 2015.
The search for a new chief of police is underway.
