AMBUCS Hub City Playground

26th Street west of Nashville, Inside Maxey Park

The AMBUCS HUB City Playground is located at Maxey Park and is completely ADA accessible. HUB stands for Helping Undo Barriers and it allows children of all abilities to play together. A special thanks to the three Lubbock AMBUCS chapters for making this possible.

FiberMax Center for Discovery

Opened in May 2002, the museum exhibits include restored tractors from Lubbock County Historical Collection plus more machinery, implements, and artifacts.

American Wind Power Center

1701 Canyon Lakes Drive, Inside Mackenzie Park, (806) 747-8734 

In 1993, a non-profit organization was established to acquire a large number of restored early windmills. The City of Lubbock provided at 28-acre tract of city park land along with some buildings for indoor displays. The American Wind Power Center is the most comprehensive collection of historic windmills in the world.

FINA/ALON USA Crossroads in Time Sculpture Garden

400 Block of East Broadway, West of Mackenzie Park

The FINA/ALON USA Crossroads in Time Sculpture Garden is located east of the South Plains Fairgrounds on the western boundary of Mackenzie Park. Dedicated in October 2004, this new addition to the Lubbock park system is truly monumental with artwork by Sculptor Steve Teeters that represents the art, architecture, history and heritage of the Llano Estacado. 

Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial

The Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial was dedicated on December 7, 2003. The Memorial is a shining reminder of the sacrifices of the men and women who have so willingly given of themselves for our country. This community owes American Legion George S. Berry Post 575 and Auxiliary a debt of gratitude for their untiring efforts on making this Veterans Memorial a reality.

Lubbock Memorial Arboretum

The Lubbock Memorial Arboretum is located in Clapp Park and is an exhibit of the best trees, shrubs, vines and other ornamental plants which can be grown in this area. The Arboretum is a tranquil area with ADA walkways, paths, vistas, and rest sites for the pleasure and education of local citizens and other visitors. In partnership with Parks and Recreation, it is also the home of the annual Pumpkin Trail held every 3rd weekend in October (Thursday-Sunday). 

Meadowbrook Golf Course

Moonlight Musicals Amphitheater

East of Avenue A off of East Broadway in Mackenzie Park

The Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre, located at 413 E. Broadway, is nestled into the hillside between the South Plains Fairgrounds and Mackenzie Park. Currently, Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre plays host each summer to Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. Under the direction of Gerald Dolter, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals presents family musicals each summer from June through August featuring outstanding local talent with guest artists.

Safety City

46th and Avenue U, Inside Clapp Park

WILLIE McCOOL STATUE

83rd and Nashville Avenue, Inside Huneke Park

The Willie McCool Statue was created as a lasting tribute to McCool: his life, his vision and his contributions to our understanding of our place in the universe. The young boy represents both McCool's early interest in science and the sense of adventure and curiosity inherent in children everywhere who dream of achieving the impossible.
