Beginning Monday morning, September 24, Lone Star Dirt and Paving under contract with the City of Lubbock, will begin maintenance work on 34th Street from Milwaukee Avenue to Upland Avenue. The scope of this project is to replace the existing asphalt paving with 6” Black Base and 2” Hot Mix. Throughout the project's timeline, closures on 34th Street will occur for work to take place. The first phase closure will take place from Rochester Avenue to Upland Avenue, and the second phase closure from Rochester Avenue to Milwaukee Avenue. All roads will be open after work is done each day.
Motorists are urged to allow extra time for delays or to find alternate routes. This work will take approximately four to eight weeks to complete depending upon weather and construction.
