The City of Lubbock is pleased to announce Ms. Brooke Witcher has been selected to serve as an Assistant City Manager. She is currently the Managing Director for Cultural Facilities and Special Events for the City. As Assistant City Manager, Brooke will oversee the Departments of Parks and Recreation, Internal Audit, Libraries, Civic Center, Human Resources and also related special projects.
Brooke earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas Tech University. Since joining the City of Lubbock in 2003, Witcher has held several positions including education coordinator for the Buddy Holly Center, Special Events Coordinator, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation, and Director of Municipal Museums & Special Events. She has been in her current role since 2011.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens and the City of Lubbock in this leadership role,” says Witcher. “I will work to strengthen the customer service experience and further the goals of the community and organization.”

Witcher’s first day in her new role will be January 28, 2019.
