City, Texas Tech Partner on City-Supported Recycling Site on University Campus

The City of Lubbock and Texas Tech University are now in partnership to provide a city-supported recycling center on the Texas Tech campus. The center, located near the Physical Plant at 3122 Main Street, has around 20 bins to accept aluminum, various papers and plastics.

The whole campus community is able to access the center for both office and personal recycling.

This partnership demonstrates continued commitment to sustainability and environmental efforts by both organizations.

“This partnership will improve the overall recycling opportunities in the community and will expand the environmental efforts of both parties," said City of Lubbock Director of Solid Waste Brenda Haney. "The City looks forward to a great collaboration and building a long-term relationship on recycling between the two programs.”

This new center replaces the university's former Student Housing provided recycling center that closed in 2020.
