Due to winter weather, City Solid Waste will delay Residential Pick-up, Delay Opening West Texas Regional Disposal Facility Monday

Due to continuing adverse winter weather conditions and predicted temperatures falling to – 5 degrees , the City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department will delay residential pick-up Monday, January 26, to begin at 9:00 a.m.

The West Texas Regional Disposal Facility at 17304 North FM 2528, in Abernathy, will have a delayed opening of 9:00 a.m. due to the accumulation of snow and adverse winter weather conditions along the roads. The Caliche Canyon Landfill at 8425 North Avenue P., in Lubbock, will be closed on Monday. 

The site-attended Citizen Convenience Stations and recycling drop-off sites within the city limits will also be closed on Monday.
