The Buddy Holly Center and Chapter 23: Calistro "Junior" & Mickie Vasquez Continue Summer Showcase 2025

The Buddy Holly Center’s annual Summer Showcase Concert Series continues its season on Thursday, July 10 with Chapter 23: Calistro “Junior” & Mickie Vasquez!

 

Calistro “Junior” Vasquez is a seasoned Texas troubadour with a heart full of soul and a guitar that’s been telling stories for over 45 years. Born in Lubbock and raised under the wide skies of West Texas, Junior blends classic rock, gospel, country, and heartfelt songwriting into a sound that’s as genuine as the plains he grew up on.

These days, Junior and Mickie perform intimate house concerts and private shows, bringing their signature warmth, wisdom, and spirit-filled music to audiences near and far. Whether it’s a heartfelt ballad or a toe-tapping tune, every performance is a celebration of life, love, and the power of song.

 

Concerts are every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Meadows Courtyard, May 15 – August 14. Guests are welcome to bring outside food. However, outside beverages are not permitted after 5:15pm. Chairs, picnic blankets, and like items will NOT be permitted inside the gates.

Admission is FREE! Seating for this event is available on a first come, first serve basis.

 

In addition to viewing the concerts, guests are encouraged to walk the Buddy Holly exhibitions and the Fine Arts Gallery during Summer Showcase hours with FREE admission.

 

The Summer Showcase Concert Series is funded through sponsorships and donations.
